What does the A, R & E. in A.R.E truck caps stand for? Well, the answer is both simple and surprising. A founder of the company wanted to honor his three children, using the first initials of each: Anne Marie, Ralph, and Elizabeth.
When the company (founded in 1969) was new, they manufactured aluminum recreational caps. Ten years later, they began to produce caps for commercial use, still using aluminum. They now also manufacture fiberglass truck caps to protect what you haul, whether recreationally or commercially.
